Man arrested for knife and drug offences in Birmingham

Police have arrested a man for supplying drugs and for knife offences in Birmingham after having to chase the speculate on foot when they spotted some suspicious activity in Colmore Row.

In a picture shared on social media, Project Guardian Team WMP showed what appeared to be a large quantity of drugs in addition as two knives, one of which had a blade in excess of 30 centimetres long.

Project Guardian Team WMP wrote in the accompanying tweet on Tuesday night: “Task Force Officers have had a foot chase, this afternoon, following suspicious activity in Colmore Row @BrumCityWMP.

“A male was arrested for Drug Supply and knife offences #stopsearch #LifeorKnife.”

Possession of a weapon is punishable by up to four years in prison, with anyone aged 18 or older caught carrying a knife for a second time eligible for a minimum six month custodial sentence.

Possessing drugs with intent to supply can also carry a custodial sentence, in addition as an unlimited fine and/or a community order.
